Description
Correspondence principally between Dr P J S Hamilton and Dr G Z Brett, Director of Mass Radiography Service, North West Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board, relating to x-ray examinations undertaken as part of the Whitehall Study health screening and follow-up examinations, including: meeting minutes and memoranda regarding establishing x-ray examinations in Whitehall; correspondence requesting re-scheduling of x-ray appointments by survey volunteers; request for copies of X-ray results mainly from participant's doctors and copies of letters sent by Dr Brett to Dr Medvei, Treasury Medical Service, 1968, enclosing details of participant's with abnormal findings (e.g. lesions). Also includes manuscript charts relating to abnormal x-ray results, such as incidence of unfolded aorta. Papers also include a letter sent to Patrick Hamilton from Victor [Hawthorne], 1972, about the Renfrew Burgh Survey based in Glasgow and run by the University of Glasgow. File 2 of 5 CLOSED until 2028 due to medically sensitive material.
