Description
AMF was set up in 1983 as a non for profit private medical foundation to raise funds for and conduct research into the causes, methods of treatment and prevention of AIDS. Sonnabend served as chairman of the Scientific Committee until his resignation in 1985.
AMF merged with the American Foundation for AIDS Research in 1989 thereby forming the American Foundation for AIDS Research. These papers relate to work undertaken by Sonnabend while he worked at AMF
They include historical records including copies of original incorporation papers plus names of all founding members (1983), administrative correspondence to Sonnabend, meeting minutes (1983-1985) as well as press cuttings and coverage of HIV and AIDS
