Description
He has been given DD Cunningham's laboratory to work in and told that he can apply for an extension of a further six months to his special duty but he has to investigate kala azar as well. The grey mosquitoes are the commonest species in Calcutta and he has found some dappled-winged ones but that he has difficulty in finding suitable cases of malaria and will start work on birds in the interim. J Cleghorn has been told that he had refused to give the man he was replacing at Kherwana a sickness certificate but this misunderstanding had now been cleared up.
