DescriptionThere was an outbreak of smallpox when he returned from Poona which with the sanitary reforms has made him very busy and this is delaying his malaria research. Regrets that his specimens reached Manson in such poor condition but says that he cannot send more until he finds another crescent case. He describes his recent observations on psorosperms and says that of two men given psorosperms in water to drink one developed fever but had no parasites in his blood and that he himself took psorosperms in water twice and had no reaction. He discusses some of his publications in the Indian Medical Gazette and comments on a paper by G Thin. Has been appointed acting Residency Surgeon at Bangalore for six months from the end of May with the possibility of the post being made permanent.
