The papers document the epidemic in the country and UNAIDS' efforts to lobby the South African government to respond to the epidemic by allowing antiretroviral treatment in the country. Files include correspondence, memoranda, notes, articles and reports and include official correspondence between UNAIDS (and the UN) with the Thabo Mbeki and other South African ministers on the epidemic.
