Description
Papers relate to interdisciplinary research programme on the social history of AIDS in the UK. The Nuffield Provincial Hospital Trust programme was directed by Virginia Berridge and Philip Strong and based at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. From 1988 to 1994, the programme engaged in researching and writing the social history of AIDS in the UK, concentrating on the formation and implementation of an official AIDS policy and the role and influence of the voluntary and medical sectors on this process. The papers within the series contain project administration and organisational papers, including advisory committee papers and correspondence with the Nuffield Trust and research notes from individuals and organisations consulted and sometimes interviewed during the Programme.
