DescriptionData analysis to create a deprivation index for nine regions of England and Wales using census data measuring unemployment, car ownership, house ownership and overcrowding these were then correlated to smoking related deaths and incidence of lung cancer. This work appears to have been commissioned by the Small Area Health Statistics Unit (SAHSU). The file includes computer readouts showing deprivation results, manuscript notes, acetate presentation slides, plotted regional maps of the United Kingdom and briefing notes on project by Linda Colwell and Geoffrey Rose.
