DescriptionWorking papers relating to research and data analysis primarily undertaken by Linda Colwell (later Dr), senior computer then research assistant at the Department of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology. Linda Colwell provided computational and statistical support to various research projects in the department, including the Whitehall Study and G.P.O. Health Survey.

The majority of these papers relate to statistical work associated with Donald Reid and Geoffrey Reid including work on chronic bronchitis, air pollution, migrant health survey and mortality rates within the United Kingdom. Papers also includes other studies undertaken in the Department, including levels of radiation in schools in Southall, c. 1950; statistics relating to investigation on still born births in United Kingdom, 1950-1953; and data relating to investigation of diabetic mothers in pregnancy and investigation on rates of metabolism, 1953. File also includes teaching material from the DPH [Department of Public Health] teaching course and various publications including booklets from World Health Organization, magazines, article reprints from Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences and Journal of the American Statistic Association.
