| Description | In 1979 Sonnabend opened a private clinic, at 340 W 17th St, where he was able to treat his patients who were mainly gay men while he continued his research into sexually transmitted diseases. It was during his private practice that he saw an increase in kaposi sarcoma symptoms in gay patients. One file containing correspondence and memos to Sonnabend on sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS. It also contains a handwritten copy of patient notes.
