DescriptionSonnabend worked for the Bureau of Venereal Disease Control for New York City's Department of Health from around 1977. During this time Sonnabend also volunteered at the Gay Men's Health Project, a clinic specializing in venereal diseases affecting gay men.
These records include administrative correspondence and staff memos, research grant applications, newsletters plus handwritten and type notes on sexually transmitted diseases.
Added 2022: Blank serologic test results cards 1978: cards designed by Sonnabend for patients to record syphilis results.
Added 2023 (Tranche 3) - a patient record from Bird S. Coler Hospital 1977. This record closed in line with Data Protection legislation
