Description
His work on malaria in classical Greece has been hampered by no-one doing any work on the subject before. Malaria would appear to have been endemic in Rome at the time of Horace and suggests that the shape of the Roman villa might have contributed to its prevalence. He is most grateful to Ross for all his help and to him and AE Shipley for introducing him to such an interesting subject
