Description | Simpson writes to Ross that he was at the Edinburgh meeting of the British Medical Association in July 1898, where Patrick Manson was Chairman of the Tropical Disease section. He remembers the "profound sensation produced among the members when Sir Patrick read out a telegram he had received" from Ross which described his success at "conveying malaria from bird to bird by means of "grey" mosquitoes." A "resolution was unanimously passed sending" Ross congratulations on his "great and epoch making discovery", and is glad to hear Ross is writing his memoir. |
