Description
His work has been brought to a stop by the plague scare, as the population believe that they are to be forcibly inoculated, so he has asked to be allowed to return to Calcutta. He has completed his report and sent it in and posted a copy to Manson, while he has begged that it should be printed in time for Manson to receive a copy before the British Medical Association meeting. He has also written to R Harvey asking to be allowed to leave kala-azar until he has completed malaria and for an extension to his special duty. He has heard the DD Cunningham is retiring but if offered his post does not want to have to undertake teaching duties or be hampered by not being allowed to travel. Asks Manson to put the case to the authorities for proper research into parasitology
