Description
His supply of infected birds has ceased and that he is working on his report for R Harvey. He has only just received Manson's letter of 9th April (Ross/12/42) and agrees that his work should be put on a broader footing as the mosquito-malaria theory is proved. The work involved, especially as he is expected to investigate kala-azar, is too much for one man. Lists other diseases which should be investigated, says that the Indian Medical Service administration should be thoroughly reformed and outlines the ways in which it should be done. The Indian Princes' Institute is 'hanging fire', the Pasteur Institute is intended for bacteriologists and that he needs an assistant to carry on with malaria if he has to study kala-azar.
