12 - Letters from Patrick Manson to Ross on Ross' research into the transmission of malaria by mosquitoes

Description
Manson says that the French and Italians are both working at malaria but Bignami has his own theory. He is doubtful about Ross' postulation that mosquitoes might infect by their bite as he thinks that they only bite once in their life and that it is more likely that the disease is transmitted from the infected mosquito to the grubs. He suggests that Ross tries working with birds.
