Description
Correspondence and related material regarding criticism of UNAIDS' activities and that of the Director-Executive, Peter Piot. Majority of the documents are email correspondence relating to the performance and function of UNAIDS; relationship with co-sponsors and the Global Fund Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; global investment given to fighting HIV/AIDS; reliability of their published figures for global HIV cases; criticism from political activist groups like Treatment Action Campaign; specific campaigns such as the '3 by 5' campaign and 'Three ones: in action'; AIDS denialists and published critiques of UNAIDS from James Chin and Roger England.
Other material includes memoranda, minutes, meeting notes, newspaper cuttings from the Lancet, Financial Times, Washington Post and Le Monde and a photocopied book chapter entitled 'Women, Half the World Barely Represented' from Race Against Time, by Stephen Lewis, published 18 October 2005.
