Correspondence relating to HIV/AIDS work relating to Peter Piot's position as Director of the Centre for HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp. Containing correspondence, letters received, facsimiles, memoranda, newsletters, reports of meetings, conference papers and draft articles with subjects including: the situation and support of Projet SIDA in Kinshasa with various correspondence with staff members including Director, William Heyward; HIV/AIDS work in sub-saharan Africa with papers relating to work undertaken in Kenya and Zaire; correspondence with the Global Programme on AIDS, WHO with meeting notes and newsletter; correspondence relating to the International AIDS Society and letters received and newsletters from AIDS activist groups such as Act Up and Stag. Correspondees include Jonathan Mann, Gerald Friedland, Dr Michael Merson and Sir Donald Acheson. Also includes report of WHO Collaborating Centre on AIDS Report on 1987-1990, along with grant proposals.
