It is so dangerous that big steamers lie almost a mile away and one lands in a special rowing boat called the ‘surf boat’. This although very broad not infrequently overturned – indeed I saw one capsized shortly after landing myself. Bobbie Leiper.’ Addressed to Miss Leiper, Glasgow.
