Title
Draft letter from Ross to John Tasman Waddell Leslie, Secretary, Director-General, Indian Medical Service
Date
25/6/1897
Description
Ross acknowledges Leslie's telegram offering him a post in the Central Provinces (Ross/04/33) and says that he cannot accept a post from the Director-General until he knows whether he is to be offered a post in the Political Department which he would prefer. He adds that as his prospects are so poor with the Madras Civil Medical Department, he will have to retire on his first pension and waste his years of study and experience if he does not obtain a better post.
