Description
Correspondence between Ford Hickson, SIGMA Research, and members of the House of Commons regarding an amendment to the Criminal Justice Bill to amend the age of consent for homosexual activity from 21 to 16. Project SIGMA sent documents relating to their social research on gay men's sexual behaviour to help inform the debate and received acknowledgements and letters from a number of MPs including Anne Widdecombe, Jack Straw, Margaret Beckett, Roy Hattersley and Glenda Jackson, providing information on their planned voting choices and opinion on the issue. Papers also include the published bill, notices of amendments, press releases and circulars.
