Preparations for the malaria season are making him busy but the planters are turning to him for advice. Discusses the anti-malaria work being done but the Royal Commission on Mauritius may think that the colony is too poor to carry out Ross' recommendations. The sugar crop is good this year so everybody hopes that the colonial government can spare some money for some of them
