DescriptionCB Stewart has said that he is in the Gold Coast (now Ghana) to investigate causes of disease and as his salary from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine is only a retaining fee, he will require more money from the Gold Coast (now Ghana) administration. Stewart is ready to write reports on the sanitary measures to be taken but he is not prepared to 'carry on work here similar to that which Dr Logan Taylor is doing at Sierra Leone as it is not a medical man's work'. and he is anxious to go to the mines to earn more money.
