Description
1. Dated 2/10/1899, Ross describes the work of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine's expedition to Sierra Leone and says that the mosquitoes in Freetown could be wiped out 'at a trifling cost'.
2. Dated 18/12/1901, Ross quotes a telegram from J E Dutton saying that trypanosomes have been discovered in an European.
3.Dated 8/1/1900, Thanks Lister fro returning his papers and describes a case of malaria in the Royal Southern Hospital.
4. Dated 7/12/1901, Encloses a copy of a letter from W C Gorgas (49/209) and says that C B Stewart has sailed for the Gold Coast. (now Ghana)
5. Dated 11/12/1901, Describes the methods of mosquito control used in Havana and says that many American towns are 'clearing our their mosquitoes'. He wishes the English authorities would be more active.
6. Copy of letter from Major Nathan, Governor, Gold Coast (now Ghana) in which he outlines the schedule which he has ready for C B Stewart and if he is good at his work he will probably be appointed Sanitary Commissioner.
7. Dated 14/11/1900, Discusses the order of his publications in the British Medical Journal relating to his research.
8. Dated 21/11/1900, Gives a description of the Liverpool School's expedition to West Africa in the summer of 1900, incorrectly dated 1901.
9. Dated 17/1/1903, Encloses a reprint on his thick film technique and a photograph. Sympathises over Lister's gout and says he has a new microscope.
