Description
Thanks Ross for copies of two of his papers. He has seen that Ross has withdrawn his hypotheses that mosquitoes infect each other with malaria and he agrees that it is most unlikely. Suggests that cattle of big game might harbour malaria parasites when man is not available and that if the 'black spores' are fungoid it might be possible to cultivate them on artificial media. Approves Ross' simplification of the nomenclature of the malaria parasites and says that McCallan's work was published in 1897. Asks Ross to keep him informed of the work in Sierra Leone.
