Asks if it is possible that part of the grant from the British Medical Association could be given to him to pay for his personal equipment, as the Natural History Museum refuses to pay for it and he will have to apply to the Treasury for a grant which will take two weeks. He will spend the night before sailing with his brother at Egremont, describes the amount of his luggage and gives details of his equipment.
