Description
Ross is pleased that the Italians have confirmed his work but this has already been done by SW Rivenburg. His dapple-winged mosquitoes were bred from grubs and were not caught and asks that Grassi should correct his inference that they could have ingested malaria parasites from an unknown source. His work on kala-azar has prevented his working further on malaria and that his health is poor through the strain. Talks of retiring and working on malaria in Italy and adds that the most credit for malaria research is due to Manson who suggested the mosquito-malaria theory and encouraged Ross throughout his work.
