It is thought that the files were initially compiled and maintained by Professor James for his work on assessing chronic energy deficiency based on world-wide BMI and height and weight data for the FAO and WHO in 1991. They may also have been used as a resource for FAO Food and Nutrition paper 56 'Body mass index - a measure of chronic energy deficiency in adults', 1994, by Professor James and Professor Prakash Shetty and for the report of the Sixth World Food Survey, 1995. |
