Description
Records of the Malta pilot survey team, which was established in July 1954 by the Minister for Education and Labour, to carry out a survey of family living conditions in Malta. Records include: cards containing data concerning the heights, weights and place of babies in families; raw data collected during the survey, 1953-1954; correspondence between team members, Miss MW Grant and the Colonial Office concerning nutrition in Malta and the survey project, 1953-1957; a map of Malta; draft copies of the survey report and two copies, one annotated, of the final report of the pilot survey, March 1955.
Also contains a report by MW Grant on the 'growth of Maltese babies in the first year of life', 20 July 1956, a paper on 'Malta prison ration scales, 27 November 1943 and telegrams sent between the Governor of Malta and the Secretary of State for the Colonies concerning the Committee on Nutrition in the Colonial Empire investigation into the condition of nutrition on the Island, (1937) and an offer of condensed milk, June 1954.
