Description | Correspondence, memoranda, notes and reports relating to the work of the Co-Operation Group to Combat Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Drugs (Pompidou Group). The group was formed in 1971 and named after former President of the French Republic, Mr Georges Pompidou. The group's aim was to examine the problems of drug abuse and illicit traffic in Europe and was incorporated under the Council of Europe in 1980. The majority of the papers are documents presented at meetings on the group covering a range of topics including women and drugs, the role of the criminal justice system and drug users and epidemiological reports from around Europe. |
