Description
Papers relating to the National AIDS Trust, an independent charity launched in 1987 with its main purpose to help coordinate and advise the activities of the HIV and AIDS voluntary sector. NAT received significant government funding from the Department of Health initially and helped channel funding for HIV and AIDS related projects. The organisation promoted World AIDS Day from 1991 and in 2000 launched the first website dedicated to the memorial day. Papers include annual reports, conference papers, newsletters and publications relating to voluntary sector updates along with information about a special gala ballet performance organised by the Trust and endorsed by Princess Diana, Princess of Wales, one of the patron's of the Trust.
