Description
The press has given extensive coverage to the expedition and that R Fielding-Ould is sailing for Sierra Leone on 2/9/1899 and will stay after Ross' return. When Ross' telegram was received, AL Jones, RW Boyce and himself went to the Colonial Office to appeal for a man to be sent out to Ross but it was refused although the Colonial Nursing Association is sending three nurses. Doubts that Ross will have time to visit Accra and Lagos.
