GB 0809 Ross - Ross, Col Sir Ronald (1857-1932)
12 - Letters from Patrick Manson to Ross on Ross' research into the transmission of malaria by mosquitoes

Title
Letter
Date
2/9/1898
Description
Suggests that since Ross has failed to get the 'black spores' to germinate, they might be intended for disposal in soil or water, that he should experiment with them in test tubes and also try a method of obtaining specimens of germinal rods. It is almost certain that CW Daniels will work with Ross for two or three months prior to joining the Royal Society Malaria Commission in Africa, he is not satisfied with the Royal Society's arrangement and that R Koch has gone to Rome to study malaria. In a postscript he tells Ross that he had heard officially that CW Daniels is to come to work with him in Calcutta and that R Koch is claiming 'the mosquito as his own' without acknowledging Ross' work
