Description	Correspondence and conference papers relating to a WHO conference entitled, 'Symposium on Drug Abuse Research and Coordination, London, 25-27 July 1988. The purpose of the conference was to highlight current research activities, examine common priorities for research into illicit drugs in Europe and improve research co-ordination and co-operation. As Virginia Berridge was one of the conference organisers there are a number of correspondence from her fellow organiser Cee Goos, scientist in the abuse of psychoactive drugs, WHO and speakers at the symposium. File contains conference details such as the itinerary, participant list and conference papers including Virginia Berridge's own notes and overheads from her presentation delivered at the event. The file also includes earlier meeting minutes of a report on the consultation on problems related to alcohol and psychoactive drugs, held in Edinburgh, 1986.
