Description | Annual reports, newsletters, publications and correspondence relating to the activities of the charity group, Coronary Prevention Group. The Coronary Prevention Group were set up in 1979 by a group epidemiologists, doctors and other experts to raise awareness of coronary heart disease and grew to provide expert advice on prevention particularly through changes in diet, exercise and causes of stress. The group became a charity in 1983 and became affiliated to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (c. 1997) before becoming part of the National Heart Forum (c. 2000). Papers include typescript notes on the history of the group, correspondence on changes in nutrition information labelling and a number of reports and guidance publications on preventative measures against the disease.
