BMI data Photocopies of journal articles, published and unpublished papers and reports and statistical data relating to the body mass index (BMI) of adults and children in countries world-wide sent to Professor WPT James from world-wide nutrition researchers and institutions. It is thought that the files were initially compiled and maintained by Professor James for his work on assessing chronic energy deficiency based on world-wide BMI and height and weight data for the FAO and WHO in 1991. They may also have been used as a resource for FAO Food and Nutrition paper 56 'Body mass index - a measure of chronic energy deficiency in adults', 1994, by Professor James and Professor Prakash Shetty and for the report of the Sixth World Food Survey, 1995. 1979-1992
