  <dc:title>Susan Brind</dc:title>
<dc:description>Susan Brind's installation focuses on the School's research into malaria. Referencing research from the Classical Period to the 20th Century, 'bad air [mal'aria]' distributes a text around the walls of the ground floor of one of the School's main buildings in Keppel Street. Hand rendered in gold leaf, ideas created by a delirious mind and fevered body, factual information and beliefs of the period, merge as a cycle of thoughts. The proximity of rational, objective texts to the more emotive ones generates a poetic space for the viewer or reader within the School's architecture.

Includes Susan Brind artist leaflet draft; three copies of artist leaflet; drafts of artwork labels for 'bad air [mal'aria]'; two invitations to private view of new art commissions; press release for new art commissions at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; proposals for commission; email correspondence between Brind and Tony Fletcher; locations for artworks; invoice from Brind; A4 'Continues along the corridor' poster; exhibition description by Francis Mckee; statement drafts for commission brochure; layout information; 15 slides showing 'bad air [mal'aria]'; 19 slides showing 'The mind betrays the body', 'Untitled installation' and 'Expiring, abandoned and alone' by Brind; listed building consent from Camden Council for the introduction of gold leaf to corridors and stairwells.</dc:description>
